It’s a New Year and everybody’s doing it. Music lists, movies lists, cutest puppies, favourite gifs… if you can watch it, read it, eat it, or like it there is probably somebody making a year end list about it. Here at The Certified Noonas, we love lists. As one of the resident list-makers, I’ve been keeping a lot of lists of various sorts throughout the year. If you’ve been listening to our year-end podcasts you’ve heard some of what is on those lists. If you haven’t been listening now is a perfect time to go check them out. Either way you are more than welcome to read through and get a little glimpse of what we’ve been up to this year.

In 2019, The Certified Noonas podcast added music episodes. We all love music and between the 4 of us we listen to a wide variety of Asian artists. Our music episodes start with us discussing what new songs or artists we’ve been enjoying over the past month. Over the year, I’ve been adding all the songs and artists that we’ve talked about in those opening segments into one giant playlist on Spotify. The current count is 243 songs with a play time of over 14 hours. So if you are interested in listening to an oddball mix of music and maybe discovering a voice you hadn’t heard before, please give it a follow and a listen. We have really good taste in music 😘

Since the playlist has become very long, we’ve decided to retire the 2019 list and start fresh in 2020. We were starting to get duplicates going in and I’m tired of Spotify’s attitude. “Are you sure you want to add that again?”. Yes I’m sure, Natalia really really really likes EXO and Panic at the Disco, stop questioning it. So if you like the mix of music on our 2019 playlist and want to hear more in the coming year, hop on this train early and follow our new 2020 playlist now. It’s empty as of me writing this post, but if you’re finding this later in the year, I promise there’s music on it now.

And finally for the best of the best, the top of the top, check out our collaborative playlist combining all the music we each put on our own top of 2019 lists over here. If you want variety these lists will give that and then some. Between us we had fewer than a dozen crossover songs.

What were your favourite songs of the year? Did some of our songs make your own list? Drop us a comment to tell us what you think and don’t forget to check out our kpop podcast episodes. And if you’re more into our drama episodes, why not friend us over on MyDramaList and check out the list of dramas we watched just for the podcast this year. It’s a voting list so rank the ones that you watched too and help us as we choose new things to watch and talk about in the coming year.
